Self-Assessment

The engineering proposal project was definitely the hardest, but the best project did throughout the whole semester. It pits our team against a challenge that we face every day and comes up with a solution. It took a lot of creativity, brainstorming, researching, coordination, and hard work. Coming up with an idea was very challenging because there were so many problems to be solved and there were many solutions to already existing problems. We debated countless times on what topic to choose. We chose the solar power system because we felt that our idea could greatly reduce the risk. Researching the background information and information that supports our belief was not hard. We found plenty of resources for the topic and tried to choose the statistics that mattered most. It was a very cooperative task because every group member had to find the information for the slides that they were in charge of presenting. This also made it either on the individual because the workload was split in 3. Thus, we were able to make a great presentation as well as transferring all the information into this document with relative ease compared to doing a proposal alone. It was a great experience that makes me look forward to future group assignments. The most challenging part for me was the oral presentation. Presenting is one my weaknesses. Some of my classmates pointed out that I relied too much on my notes. Next time, I will try not to be dependent on my notes.
