The Final Draft of Lab Report with Abstract:(<-Click this link)
Self-Assessment
My writing goal was to make the lab report and procedures clear. It was hard to decide which experiment would be best for our team. I achieved this course goal by organizing the materials in a list and describing the experimental procedure by step by step in complete details. Through this lab report, I have been able to work in a group and engage in collaborative aspects of writing processes. Formulating a hypothesis and experimenting has allowed me to formulate and articulate a stance throughout my writing. The group developed and engaged in a collaborative and social aspect of lab report writing process inside and outside of the classroom. Our team decided Lemon Battery experiment. After decided on the topic, we allocated responsibilities and roles to each other based on our preference. We did not want to get too deep into the chemical of the project, so we just scratched the surface in order to not confuse the reader with a lemon battery experiment. As I have mentioned earlier, I did have experience writing lab reports, so this allowed me to review past lab reports and to see how I constructed them. Lab reports have a tendency to stay emotionless and very rigid, unlike creative writing. There were some challenges at first, but we overcame them. One such challenge was procrastination, we held off a lot of work for the last minute but in the end, we all took initiative and pitched in our parts at our own pace. We all chipped into each other’s sections to double-check the information and help lessen the workload. Overall, I think the project was a success and we did a great job collaborating and are ready to tackle future group projects.
